Maple Oatmeal Pancakes

1/4 cup maple syrup
1 cup pancake mix
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted shortening

Combine all ingredients and lightly whisk until blended. Cook on a hot fry pan or griddle.
