Danville was granted by the Vermont legislature in 1786 and was named for the royal cartographer of France, Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville. It is located in Caledonia County.

Danville has the distinction of being one of Vermont's highest towns (sea level-wise). It shares Joe's Pond with neighbor Cabot.

The American Society of Dowsers meet in Danville every August. Danville is also the birthplace of Thaddeus Stevens, leader of the Civil War-era abolitionist Radical Republicans.

Danville:

Broadview Farm B&B - One hundred years ago, Broadview Farm provided accommodations for New England travelers. Today, Broadview Farm still offers the same warm hospitality in a peaceful rural setting on over 200 acres.

Emergo Farm Bed & Breakfast - Spend a special vacation discovering the real Vermont at Emergo Farm Bed & Breakfast. This family farm has been in operation since 1858 when the Webster’s great-great grandparents began farming the 200 acres that are still in use today. Today the Webster family milks 90 head of Holsteins in a modern free-stall parlor. Guests are encouraged to take our heritage tour and learn first hand about farming in Vermont, past and present.

Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast - The house is exquisitely furnished with 19th century antiques, and offers five beautifully appointed guestrooms, each with a private bath to ensure your privacy and comfort. We invite you to indulge in our comfortable beds, and sink into luxurious down pillows and duvets in every room.
